Who Is Steve Vaughan?

Steve Vaughan is your archetypal aging rocker. Born in the 60's, and fed a musical diet of Bowie, Stones, Faces etc by his older siblings, Steve's adolescent years were punctuated with regular trip to the record store to blow his pocket money. 6th form years were musically full of Rush, Floyd, Zeppelin and Tull, and this only grew when he went to Birmingham University to study chemistry in the early 80's. Most of Steve's working life has been in sales and sales management in life sciences; however 10 years ago Steve jacked the corporate life in to become a professional wedding photographer with his wife Samantha. Since the pandemic, Steve also is a sales trainer and business coach. Steve has 5 grown up kids (a mix of genetic and step) and wonderfully became a grandad in the summer of 2023! Steve lives with his wife Samantha in Bicester, Oxfordshire!

The Steve Vaughan Rock Show is, not surprisingly, a rock show! Each week Steve plays a mix of classic rock, blues, prog, country rock, new wave, metal and all the stations in between. Most shows have a weekly theme that connects all the songs. A mix of music and chat, Steve show is for all lovers of the broad church that is rock. Suggestions for songs, themes or playlists are ALWAYS welcome!

Steve-o is Steve's nickname here at Incapable Staircase, so it seemed obvious to call his country music show Steve-O's Big Country! Steve's additional show features the best in Country, Western, Americana and Bluegrass music both new and old, and from both sides of the atlantic.

Well, its 2025 and I realise I haven't written one of these for a while so....here goes. 2024 was a good year for me, family and business(es). For 2025, I'm aiming to do a live show at least 3 weeks out of 4 each month. Having two businesses (photography and sales training) means I will always be away or travelling from time to time, but I can usually schedule things around.  As for the show, it's still going to be a mix of classic and more modern rock, blues, country rock, Americana and so on. I'd welcome suggestions for show themes, playlists, or even coming on the show live with me....its not that scary, honest! Just message me through the website. What has happened to the summer? Its mid June, and its been a cold and wet one so far...although as I write the sun has finally come out! News for my listeners... I'm getting into the routine of an additional country show every other Thursday at 9pm. Its fun searching for tracks to play, don't forget you can message me here or leave a Soundpipe voice message. For the rock show, as it was Download last week, I thought I would look back at the festival that came before, Monsters of Rock. The first of a several episodes show is now available to listen back. Wow, it's nearly May. Hopefully this wet and miserable weather will finally give way to springtime. So, what's going on with me? Well, wedding season is here, so Samantha and I are busy photographing most weekends. We are on a slow wind down of our business, with the aim to stop completely in 2 years time. Why? Well, mostly because I am OLD. And, as grandparents, we want more time at weekends to see our grandson, as well as our grown up kids. We have had a good run...over 400 weddings in fact. Both us have other employment which will hopefully see us through to retirement. Show news; I'm in discussion with Mission Control here at Staircase HQ about an additional show! If you listen to my show regularly you will know I am partial to a little country/Americana/Bluegrass from time to time, so all being well I will have a Steve Vaughan Country Show on a Thursday, every other week, at 9pm, starting on May 23rd. More details soon! Samantha and I are away in Orkney for the first week in May, so at least two of my shows will be pre-records then; apologies for that. As always, if you have any suggestions for songs, a theme, or a playlist, I'd love to hear from you. Hoo Hoo, and keep on rocking! SV
