Endless Summer Weekender 2024: Four Years In and Still Going Strong

Another cracking weekend at Patchwork Studios and Garrison Gallery. From start to finish, it was packed with great tunes, lively discussions, and proper good vibes. Here’s how it all went down.

Friday Night at The Garrison

We kicked things off on Friday night at The Garrison with DJs spinning soul, 80s, and disco. The place started filling up, and by the end, the room was bouncing. The music had everyone on their feet, and it was exactly the kind of atmosphere we’d hoped for to start the weekend.

Saturday: Discussions and Vinyl

Saturday was a full-on day. Back at The Garrison, we started with a Panel Discussion focusing on local issues and how to run a CIC. It was a great space for proper conversation, and we had a good crowd of people keen to learn and share their experiences. A nice mix of practicality and community spirit for the Saturday afternoon.

Next up was Got That On Vinyl—a firm favourite. People brought along their most-loved records, shared why they meant so much to them, and we played them for the room. It’s always a hit, because there’s something really special about hearing the stories behind people’s music.

Saturday Night at Patchwork Studios

By the evening, we shifted over to Patchwork Studios for a proper night out. DJs Bisco, Pete Daisy, and KVNG kept the energy high, and the sound and lighting were top-notch. Everyone was feeling it, and we kept things going late into the night. A great way to end the Saturday.

Sunday Wind-Down

Sunday saw us back at The Garrison for more music to round off the weekend. The pace was a bit more relaxed, perfect for winding down after two busy days. We played until close, and it was the perfect way to wrap up the Weekender.

A Word From The Venue(s)

Incapable Staircase are a top bunch. One of the main reasons we ask them back each year for the bank holiday weekend is they’re great, easy, nice people. They are professional without being demanding—self-sufficient and ready to muck in when needed. It’s rare to have any problems or hiccups, and really, all they need is a hand.

When you have a room already buzzing with the guys they bring down, it easily attracts others to the space to settle in. The events aren’t overbearing during the day and nurture a social and inclusive vibe. They have found DJs in the past just by opening the conversation to the room—we saw it happen live this very year. The evening events are of such high quality. This year saw M take to the decks for the first time, which brought its own charm to the room and started a load of conversations with punters. By the evening, the veterans take over, and you can feel the room start to bounce. Guest spots are always great as well, highlighting local talent that otherwise may get missed. Acts like KVNG, used to hosting extended nights at larger venues in the county, take to the stage with their unique sound.

Looking Ahead to 2025

It’s hard to believe we’ve been doing this for four years now. Big thanks to Patchwork Studios and Garrison Gallery for being fantastic hosts yet again. We’re already looking forward to next year—expect bigger things in 2025. Watch this space.

Shoutout to the DJs

A huge thanks to the DJs who kept us moving all weekend: Bisco, Chris Stacey, Jelly Wobble, Pete Daisy, Gloo, M, Laa Dee Daa, KVNG, and MMT. You all smashed it!
